Life is full of ups and downs. Basiru Ajibola will most probably be regretting the day he betrayed Rauf Aregbesola today; asking himself the probing question whether the betrayal and stabbing of Aregbesola was worth it?
Those who eulogised Basiru Ajibola for that betrayal and extolled him for playing the Judas’s card are now today rallied to end Srj from attaining his own lawful ambition. The known Disciples of Oyetola have been accused of converging on Ido Osun at the house of a certain Baba Adeleke; an elder in the APC to orchestrate how Basiru Ajibola must be prevented from the race at all cost. The outlandish Banik was indicted to be the brain behind the Ido Osun meeting; a claim he did not entirely deny. And since then Srj has been suspected to be writing strong epistles attacking everybody and everywhere in APC under cover unascertained volunteers. The side rooting for Basiru Ajibola are saying that the APC of the other side loyal to Oyetola appears to be transactional politicians and that can only explain how they sold our patrimony while Oyetola sat as a Governor. Up till today; the APC sold Lautech my own Alma Mata and there was no account of what the proceeds were used for in the Government financial books. The pro Srj are correct to accuse them of transaction politics.
So by what we gathered; some blocs in the APC will sit down today in Iwo to waste time to read ulterior and already prepared communique to endorse Bola Oyebamiji that many consider a weak Aspirant from the West District who has no reach beyond Irewole LG where he hails. Today in Iwo; Osun APC will stylishly stampede the destiny of Basiru Ajibola by endorsing and affirming Oyebamiji on the altar of zoning convenience not minding if there is a merit. And from today onward; these Characters will ambitiously blackmail and harrass other Aspirants especially Basiru Ajibola into silence saying their party must follow the unwritten doctrine of the moment.
Politicians are sometimes unreliable. They courted Basiru Ajibola until he betrayed his Benefactor Rauf Aregbesola and the very people who benefitted from that gulf of war have again abandoned Basiru Ajibola to sink in the ocean of politics.
Srj will ask himself most probably on this day; if it was worth it; breaking the pot from which he had fed.
