An Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) have killed one person with the injuring of seven others at a bar in Gashua in Yobe State.
The IEDs were planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, a week after Geidam border community was attacked, killing a dozen residents.
Confirming the incident, yesterday (Monday), in Damaturu, the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Dungus Abdulkarim said: “Our EOD detectives are at the scene in Gashua. They are to find out the type of explosives used at the bar premises that injured seven people.”
According to him, the injured persons have already been evacuated for treatment at Specialist Hospital, Gashua.
Lamenting on incessant attacks, he said: “It appears that it was a coordinated attack of the Boko Haram terrorists operating in the border communities with Niger,” stating that the Sunday night explosions threw residents into pandemonium across the council headquarters.
