Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obokun Local Government, Hon. Adelani Owoeye has reiterated that “Hon. Wole Oke did not leave the PDP for any noble reason, He left because his personal ambitions could no longer thrive within a democratic system that rewards merit, loyalty, and service.”
While reacting in a statement signed by him to the defection of the former House of rep member, Hon. Owoeye emphasised that Hon. Wole Oke is a drowning man clinging to fiction, stating that “The PDP remains unshaken and undivided”.
He said “Our attention has been drawn to a recent post by Hon. Wole Oke, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in which he attempted to rationalise his defection with baseless claims, delusional projections, and imagined support from non-existent allies across various local government areas.
“Let it be clearly stated: Hon. Wole Oke did not leave the PDP for any noble reason. He left because his personal ambitions could no longer thrive within a democratic system that rewards merit, loyalty, and service. His decision to abandon the party at a time when Osun PDP is at its strongest — under the competent leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke — is not only ill-advised but also reeks of political desperation.
“It is laughable to claim that elected officials, council chairmen, and other stakeholders across Obokun, Oriade, Ife axis, and Iwo Federal Constituency are quietly “waiting to join him.” These are individuals currently serving under the PDP-led government and actively delivering the dividends of democracy to their people. They have not only rejected Wole Oke’s antics but are even more resolved to defend the mandate of our great party.
“Hon. Wole Oke is a drowning man clinging to fiction. His unprovoked attacks and erratic behaviour in recent weeks should be a cause for concern, not attention. One can only sympathise with how quickly a man who once enjoyed the grace of the party has reduced himself to posting self-consoling hallucinations on social media.
“For the avoidance of doubt, and for the umpteenth time, the PDP in Obokun Local Government remains resolute, united, and unbreakable. Our members have long since re-strategised and moved on, fully committed to the progressive agenda of our party. The polls will meet us prepared — not with noise, but with results. And to those banking on drama and distraction: noise will not save you.
“The PDP remains unshaken and undivided. Our structure is intact. Our base is solid. Our loyalty is unwavering. As 2026 approaches, we will respond to his fiction with fact — at the polls. The people will choose performance over propaganda, loyalty over betrayal, and progress over political posturing.
“This is not just a party. This is a movement with roots deep in the heart of Osun. And no defection — especially one driven by selfish desperation — can stop what we have built together.
