Osun Commissioner Fires Back at Rep Wole Oke Over “Shameful” Publication

The Osun State Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Bayo Ogungbangbe, has fired back to a recent publication by Rep. Wole Oke, describing it as “Shameful” and “Painful”.

In his response on Tuesday, Hon
Ogungbangbe explained that he’s responding because Rep. Oke has attempted to ridicule his journey and growth, which according to him “were built on hard work and the grace of God”.

The commissioner also accused the Rep member of abandoning his constituents who sent him to the House of Representatives, just to invest in personal investments such as the Lead British Schools in different states across the country over the welfare of his constituents.

Ogungbangbe however, urged Rep Wole Oke to embrace accountability, noting that “no one can sit on a seat meant for two local governments forever.”

Read the full statement;

“I have read the painful and shameful publication Wole Oke made about me. But God cannot be mocked. It is in His wisdom that He made Wole Oke who he is today, and may God continue to bless him.

I’m only responding because Wole Oke tried to ridicule my growth, a journey built on hard work and the grace of God. I would have just allow him to be but I am mindful of the fact that, it is just the grace of God. Where was Wole Oke when I, Ogungbangbe, was Vice Chairman of Oriade Local Government back in 1997/98? Life is about process and progress.

Where was he when I had to work hard and earn a decent living. The petrol station he mentioned? I leased that station myself at a time when Wole Oke had nothing, and he was even taking PMS on credit from the same station. But it is God who blesses, and we all never lack.

Wole Oke claimed he love the people of ORIADE/OBOKUN. Is it love for Oriade and Obokun that made Wole Oke abandon his constituents, the same people who sent him to the House of Representatives, just to build Lead British Schools across Nigeria? Lead British, Abuja. Lead British, Ibadan. Lead British, Osogbo. Let’s not pretend about it, the same Lead British was built while in politics plus other investments to be made public very soon at the expense of the constituency you claimed to love.

If he truly wants to develop Ijesa North as a billionaire that claims to be, why can’t he invest in meaningful projects that grow the communities little by little in Ijesa North. Those billions could have changed lives here.

Wole Oke must understand when we say enough is enough, it is not out of hatred. It’s because no one can sit on a seat meant for two local governments forever. Our children will ask questions one day.

Whatever his grievances are, may God comfort him.

But the truth remains, after over 20 years in the National Assembly, Wole Oke still has nothing to show for it. Look at the achievements of Bamidele Salam in just 6 years, or even that of Olohunwa is doing in only 2 years.

I recently read Bamidele Salam’s account of stewardship and I was truly impressed. What exactly has Wole Oke delivered in all these years aside from the embarrassment of having his name mentioned in a Premium Times investigation over alleged extortion from government agencies?”
