Osun JUSUN Vows to Continue Indefinite Strike Till CJ, Adepele-Ojo Meet Demands

The Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has vowed to continue its indefinite strike until issues of welfare and outstanding promotions affecting its members are addressed.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran, on Friday, the union stressed that the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), chaired by Honourable Justice Adepele Ojo, is the only authority empowered to address their grievances.

The group however, complained that despite several and numerous attempts including written correspondence and requests for audience, they have been unable to secure a meeting with Hon Adepele Ojo for over 17 months.

“We remain committed to finding a resolution to our legitimate demands and urge His Lordship to reconsider our requests for a meeting. We will continue to resist the unjustified non-implementation of outstanding promotions and welfare issues affecting our members.

“We urge Judiciary staff and the general public to disregard the false rumor circulating about a three-day warning strike coming to an end. This misinformation is baseless and aimed at undermining our collective resolve,” the statement added.

JUSUN also commended members for their impressive turnout at Thursday’s congress, describing it as a demonstration of unity and resilience in the face of challenges.
