No Directive To Resume Work Yet – Osun NULGE Tell Workers

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Chapter, has refuted claims that local government workers in the state have been asked to resume work.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Comrade David Olalekan Owoeye, the union said the report was false and sponsored by a political party to cause confusion among members.

The union stressed that no directive to resume work had come from the state executives led by Comrade Dr. Nathaniel Kehinde Ogungbangbe or from the national leadership under Comrade Haruna Aliyu Kankara.

According to the statement, the purported directive was an attempt to destabilise the peace of the state and endanger the lives of workers. It urged members to disregard the publication and stay away from office until further notice from the duly elected executives.

“The Union has not directed our members to resume work, we urge our esteemed members to jettison the false report and remain patient for instructions from the real elected state NULGE leadership”, the union noted.

The union assured its members of continuous protection of their welfare and interests, adding that it will not allow attempts to endanger workers’ lives.
