The Executive Governor of Plateau State and Chairman of the Protocol Sub-Committee for the forthcoming People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Elective Convention, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed confidence that the party is fully prepared for the convention scheduled to hold in November 2025.

Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed the commitment of patriotic members of the PDP to ensuring that the party remains strong, united, and unshaken at this crucial moment in the nation’s political journey.

Speaking on Monday during the inauguration of members of the Protocol Sub-Committee at the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the strategic importance of the protocol team to the overall success of the convention. He urged members to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and professionalism to bear in delivering a seamless and hitch-free exercise.

He noted that the meeting was a clear demonstration that the PDP remains vibrant, active, and resilient across the country.

In his words: “Today’s meeting demonstrates that the PDP is very much alive, and we are taking the convention very seriously. That is why we are approaching our assignment with every sense of responsibility. I have always maintained that the founding fathers of the PDP would not wish to see the party die in our time. We, therefore, have a sacred responsibility to keep this platform alive and strong for the people of Nigeria.”

Governor Mutfwang added that the inauguration provided an opportunity for members of the sub-committee to familiarize themselves with one another in order to foster synergy and effective coordination ahead of the convention.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Main Planning Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, commended Governor Mutfwang for his diligence and leadership, assuring him of the full support of the main committee.

Governor Fintiri reiterated that the PDP remains the most credible and people-oriented political platform in Nigeria and indeed Sub-Saharan Africa. He stressed that the party must not be allowed to wither, noting that it has played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic experience.

He added that the PDP has been instrumental in nurturing leaders, including himself, and pledged that every necessary effort will be made to sustain the party’s relevance as the credible alternative Nigerians can continue to trust.
