A Senior Special Assistant to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Media Monitoring, Comrade Samakin Abdul-Jeleel Abiodun, has called for the re-election of Senator Lere Oyewumi, citing his contributions to infrastructure development and grassroots empowerment across Osun West Senatorial District.
Abiodun, in a statement issued on Monday, described Oyewumi as an accessible and committed representative who had used his position to attract development projects and improve the lives of residents across the 10 local government areas in the district.
He listed road construction, classroom blocks, erosion control projects and the provision of community transformers among the interventions facilitated by the senator in the last three years.
The governor’s aide also praised Oyewumi’s empowerment programmes and financial assistance to less privileged residents, saying his approach to representation had strengthened his relationship with the people.
According to him, the senator’s accessibility and engagement with traditional rulers, community leaders and ordinary residents had distinguished his representation.
“His open-door policy and tireless commitment to service have given our people renewed hope,” Abiodun said.
He added that Oyewumi’s contributions to the district went beyond legislative activities, noting that his interventions in infrastructure, rural development and manpower development had positively affected communities across Osun West.
“Leadership is a challenge and an opportunity to serve the people, never personal interest. He listens to ordinary citizens, and he acts on what he hears,” he said.
Abiodun expressed confidence in the senator’s ability to attract more development to the district, describing him as a leader with the experience, capacity and commitment required to advance the interests of his constituents.
He urged the people of Osun West to support Oyewumi’s re-election, saying another term would provide an opportunity for him to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.
