Governor Adeleke Launches Osun Security Trust Fund , Says Safety is Key To Prosperity

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday inaugurated the Osun State Security Trust Fund, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to making the state safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Osogbo, Governor Adeleke described the initiative as “a strategic step towards ensuring sustainable security financing” in the state.

“From the first day we assumed office, we made it clear that the security and well-being of our people would remain top priority,” the Governor declared.

“This Fund will help us strengthen operational capacity, improve response time, and provide modern equipment and logistics for our security agencies.”

Governor Adeleke noted that the Fund, established by law and backed by the State House of Assembly, is designed to provide a steady stream of resources to support security operations and enhance coordination among agencies.

He commended members of the newly inaugurated Security Trust Fund Board, describing their appointment as “a national call to service,” and urged them to uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability in managing public contributions.

“The people of Osun must see this Fund as a beacon of trust, not just in name but in practice,” he said.

Governor Adeleke also used the occasion to rally support from the private sector, development partners, and well-meaning citizens, stressing that “security is everyone’s business.”

Reiterating his government’s commitment to prudent financial management, Adeleke assured stakeholders that every contribution to the Fund would be judiciously used, with proper oversight and full transparency.

“Our goal is to make Osun the safest, most peaceful, and most business-friendly state in Nigeria,” he said confidently.
