Religious Leaders Must Pray For Nigeria And Her Leaders – Gov. Adeleke

● As Sultan Visits Osun State.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has emphasised the need for religious leaders across Nigeria to continue to pray for Nigeria as the nation navigates the turbulent waters that threaten her existence.

Governor Adeleke made this call while hosting the leadership of the Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria, MUSWEN during a courtesy visit on Tuesday evening.

Senator Adeleke stressed the need for spiritual leaders from all divides in Nigeria to continue to rally round and work for the unity and progress of the country, stressing that peace is an essential ingredient for national development.

While assuring Muslims in Osun State and Southwest Nigeria at large, Senator Adeleke said his government will continue to provide a conducive atmosphere for people of all faiths while enjoining them to continue to cohabit with people of other faiths peacefully.

Speaking earlier, President of MUSWEN, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo who led the delegation to the Governor ahead of the 2025 delegate conference holding in Osun State, described the ummah as the umbrella body for all Muslim communities and councils in all the six states of the Southwest region.

According to him, the Governor has proven himself as a good ambassador of Islam through his unwavering commitment to the delivery of good governance to the people of Osun State regardless of religious or political considerations.

President of MUSWEN commended Governor Adeleke for transforming the state within a very short time he has been at the helm of affairs as Governor of Osun State praying that Allah will continue to uphold him and his government.

According to him, the Sultan of Sokoto who doubles as the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria will be Special Guest of Honour while President Bola Tinubu is the father of the day. Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullah Sule will be the keynote speaker.
