Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has restated his administration’s resolve to deepen collaboration with Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) operating in the state, assuring them of sustained support and a conducive working environment.
The Governor made this commitment at a symposium organised by the Forum of Heads of Federal MDAs in Gombe, an event designed to enhance coordination, promote synergy and stimulate collective problem-solving among federal institutions.
Represented by the Head of Civil Service, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, Governor Inuwa Yahaya acknowledged the crucial role federal agencies play in driving socio-economic development at both state and national levels.
He emphasized that their activities significantly complement the state government’s development agenda, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, service delivery and human capital growth.
He noted that Gombe State will continue to support the agencies through the provision of office accommodation, access to land and the maintenance of a peaceful atmosphere that allows them to function without hindrance.
The Governor added that these interventions are in line with his civil service reforms aimed at strengthening institutions and improving public sector efficiency.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya encouraged the MDAs to also build stronger internal systems through regular capacity-building programmes, in-house training sessions, and sporting activities that promote unity and productivity among staff.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman of the Forum and Head of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Kumo Annex, Comrade Sadiq Abubakar, said the symposium was conceived as a platform to share ideas, assess progress and collectively address operational challenges.
He commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his steadfast support and for ensuring a stable and welcoming environment for federal establishments in the state.
Dignitaries who spoke at the event included the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari; Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere, Prof. Umar Pate; the Emir of Akko, Alhaji Umar Atiku; alongside Permanent Secretaries and heads of various federal and security agencies.
