The Osun State Government has announced that another edition of its public accountability programme, Stewardship, will hold on Saturday, with discussions expected to focus on major infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the recently concluded 2026 Hajj operations and other issues of public interest.
The programme comes ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, as the state government says it remains committed to openness and accountability by keeping residents informed about its policies, programmes and activities.
The disclosure was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi.
According to the statement, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Bashir Bello, will feature on the programme to provide updates on completed road and other infrastructure projects, as well as projects currently nearing completion across the state.
Alimi said the 2026 Hajj exercise would also be a major highlight of the two-hour live radio simulcast, which will be broadcast on more than 20 radio stations within and outside Osun State.
“The recently concluded 2026 annual Hajj exercise performed by pilgrims from Osun State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be one of the major talking points during the programme,” the statement read.
He added that the Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Dr. Moruf Ishola, would explain the arrangements made before, during and after the pilgrimage.
“The series of arrangements put in place before, during and after the 2026 holy pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be fully explained by the Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Dr. Moruf Ishola,” Alimi stated.
The commissioner further disclosed that a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and political leader from Apomu in Isokan Local Government Area, Hon. Yemi Lawal, would make a special appearance during the programme.
He noted that members of the public within and outside Nigeria would have the opportunity to participate in the programme through dedicated telephone lines, social media platforms and Radio Garden.
Alimi described Stewardship as a bilingual radio programme broadcast in English and Yoruba, designed by the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment to showcase the policies, programmes and activities of the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration while promoting transparency and public accountability.
