A Facebook post by Festus Olanrewaju Ojo, a known APC political analyst and self-identified BATIST, Festus Olanrewaju Ojo, has ignited conversations online after he publicly acknowledged the popularity of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
In the post, Ojo stated that “Governor Ademola Adeleke seems to be very popular among the people of Osun state”.
Given his political affiliation, the comment quickly drew attention, with many Facebook users describing it as a candid admission from within the major opposition ranks.
The post attracted dozens of reactions, many of them attesting to Governor Adeleke’s grassroots appeal, and projecting a second term victory in the next governorship election.
Ola Awoyemi responded, “Fact check,” while Ayoola Ibraheem Olayode added, “Confirmed.”
Adekunle Adeboye wrote, “Yes, you’re very correct, Osun for Imọlẹ,” as Owoade Jamiu Olayode commented, “Political and party sentiment apart, he is loved by his people and reason, Osun APC need to do their primary assignments well beyond social media noise. Best of luck to Ambo and all the Progressives family overthere.”
Olumuyiwa Aladeyelu stated, “Adeleke is loved. All things being equal, he will win his second term in a landslide.”
One of the more detailed comments came from Akanni Joshua Oluwaseun, who shared his personal observations after visiting parts of the state. According to him, “I even want him to win. I was in Osun not long ago, and since I’m from Osun State, I have a real interest in who leads the state. I went out on the streets of Osogbo and did a lot of ground investigations into how popular he is. To my greatest surprise, people love him beyond what I expected. I spoke with bike men, petty traders, workers, korope drivers, you name it. I continued my journey to Agba, Ada, and Iragbiji. Politically, these are supposed to be Oyetola’s strong territories, so Adeleke shouldn’t be that popular there. But again, to my amusement, he’s genuinely loved in those places too. My conclusion is simple: Good luck to him. If he wins, good for him and the state..”
Adeyefa Idowu wrote, “If you conduct a survey in Osun. At least 6 out of 10 will definitely queue behind him.”
Other commenters echoed similar sentiments as Aghogho James declared, “Gov Adeleke will win with a big margin,” while Seye Ayanbeku added, “That’s the reality my broda, he will defeat Ambo with a wide margin.”
Akande Ibikunle stated that with ongoing projects across the state, “It will be very difficult for AMBO to win him.”
Several contributors referenced the Governor’s nickname, “Imole,” as a symbol of his acceptance among residents. Obadare Martins Oluwapamilerin declared, “IMOLE TILL 2030,” while Rabiu Lawal wrote, “Imole lekan si.”
Others framed the discussion as a reflection of broader political realities. M O Odebunmi commented, “The truth the Osun APC will not want to hear,” and Akeeb Saheed Ayofe concluded, “Very very popular, make AMBO forget it.”
The conversation reflects growing online discourse surrounding the political climate in Osun State ahead of the next governorship contest. Despite running to be reelected on an entirely different political party platform, the thread highlights a perception among many respondents that Governor Adeleke enjoys significant grassroots support, posing his victory at the August 2026 poll.
