The Ede Muslim Council has expressed optimism that Engr. Dr. Rilwan Lanre Babalola will use his new position to facilitate the completion of the Ede Transmission Substation (2×60MVA, 132/33KV), a project he helped initiate during his time in office.

Babalola was recently appointed as Special Adviser on Power and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Power Sector Reset and Restoration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Musibaudeen Olatunde Idris, General Secretary, Mujeeb Adekilekun Tijani, and PRO I, Imam Tirmidhi Murtador, the council said it was confident that the new appointee would bring his experience to bear in addressing challenges in the power sector.

“We are strongly hopeful that Allah will use him to influence the completion of the Ede Transmission Substation (2×60MVA, 132/33KV), which he facilitated while in office,” the statement read.

The council also congratulated the people of Edeland and the immediate family of the late Alhaji S. O. Babalola on what it described as a well-deserved appointment.

“We congratulate the good people of Edeland, particularly the family of the late Alhaji S. O. Babalola, on the appointment of their illustrious son to this important national assignment,” the statement added.

It further offered prayers for divine guidance and wisdom for Babalola as he assumes responsibility in a critical sector of the nation’s economy.

“We pray that Allah will endow him with wisdom and guidance as he takes on the task of leading one of the most complex sectors in Nigeria,” the council said.
