The President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Chapter, Dr. Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, has commended Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs), directors, deputy directors, State Administrative Council (SAC), State Executive Council (SEC) and local government workers across the state for their steadfastness and commitment since the commencement of the struggle over the leadership of local government councils in Osun State.
Dr. Ogungbangbe, in a statement made available to journalists, praised the dedication and resilience demonstrated by local government officials and workers throughout the period of the crisis, noting that their support had contributed significantly to the stability of local government administration in the state.
The NULGE president also lauded the judiciary for upholding justice and delivering what he described as a clear and unambiguous judgment on the authentic political leadership of the local government councils in Osun State.
According to him, the court’s verdict has settled all disputes regarding the rightful occupants of the local government chairmanship positions.
”The recent judgment is not ambiguous, as it clearly identified the authentic political heads of the local governments in Osun State,” he stated.
Dr. Ogungbangbe therefore called on the United Bank for Africa (UBA) to immediately commence transactions with the authentic signatories to the accounts of the various local government councils, in line with the court’s decision.
He stressed the need for all stakeholders to respect the judgment and ensure compliance with its provisions in the interest of effective governance and smooth administration at the grassroots level.
The NULGE president reaffirmed the union’s commitment to protecting the interests of local government workers while supporting lawful processes and the rule of law in the state.
