Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the nation’s security agencies for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described the victims’ safe release as cheering news for their families and the nation.

“I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my brother, Governor Seyi Makinde, on the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State. Their safe return is a great relief to their families and indeed to all Nigerians,” the governor said.

Adeleke also applauded the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their professionalism, resilience and coordinated efforts, which culminated in the successful rescue of the victims after weeks of operations.

According to him, the outcome underscores the importance of sustained collaboration among the nation’s security institutions in tackling terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes.

“I also commend the Nigerian Army, the Office of the National Security Adviser, the National Counter Terrorism Centre, the Defence Headquarters, the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies whose coordinated efforts made this success possible,” he said.

The governor noted that the operation was carried out with professionalism and restraint, ensuring the safe release of the victims while dismantling the criminal network responsible for the abduction.

He also paid tribute to security personnel who made sacrifices during the operation, praying for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and the speedy recovery of those injured.

Adeleke urged security agencies, particularly the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, to sustain the momentum in the fight against criminality and continue working to safeguard lives and property across the country.
