Osun Govt Announces Temporary Road Closure Ahead of Lameco Flyover Commissioning

The Osun State Government has announced the temporary closure of all roads leading to the newly completed Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo ahead of its official commissioning on Wednesday, July 1.

The disclosure was made in a public announcement signed by Engineer Bashir Bello, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
According to the statement, “all roads leading to the newly constructed Lameco Flyover Bridge, Osogbo, will be temporarily closed before 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.”

The government explained that the measure was necessary “to ensure orderliness, public safety and smooth coordination during the official commissioning ceremony of landmark projects executed by Governor ,” adding that the event would be headlined by the inauguration of the five-span Lameco Overhead Bridge.
It advised motorists, commuters, transport operators, residents and other road users to plan their movements ahead of time and make use of alternative routes throughout the duration of the event.

The statement further noted that “security agencies and traffic management officials will be on the ground to direct traffic and maintain public order.”

The government also appealed to members of the public for their understanding and cooperation, saying, “We appreciate the understanding, patience and cooperation of members of the public as Osun State continues to advance infrastructure development for the benefit of all.”
