Osun: Solid Minerals Committee Begin Sitting, Calls For Memoranda From Public, Stakeholders

In pursuit of its mandate following inauguration by Governor Ademola Adeleke on Monday, the Solid Minerals Committee has commenced sitting to review the activities in the solid mineral sectors in Osun State.

The Committee on Tuesday received briefings from the office of the Natural and Mineral Resources headed by Mr S. O. Salau, the Executive Secretary of the agency on the state of all the solid mineral assets owned by the state government and income inflows from them.

Mr. Salau who resumed the position of the Executive Secretary of the agency in March 2022, provided the Committee with relevant information on the operations of the various mining assets in the state. He is expected to return to the Committee tomorrow with more information and relevant documents that can help the work of the committee.

The Committee also received separate briefings from the various consultants that have been working with the agency in the solid minerals sector.

In furtherance of this, the Committee resolved to invite the members of the general public and stakeholders in the solid mineral sector with relevant information to submit them in the aid of its mandate.

CALL FOR MEMORANDA

The Solid Minerals Committee inaugurated by the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Senator Ademola Adeleke, in execution of its mandate is calling for memoranda from the public and stakeholders in the solid minerals sector.

The memoranda can be submitted physically at the Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, Osun State, or through digital media platforms listed below.

Members of the public and stakeholders with suggestions or information or proposals on how to improve the sector for transparency and better revenue generation are also enjoined to forward same to the mediums highlighted above.
