The Yobe State Government has earmarked N7.77 billion to complete capital projects in the health and education sectors of the economy.
In accessing healthcare services, Governor Mai Mala Buni recently enrolled over 50, 000 vulnerable persons into the Expanded Healthcare Delivery (EFHD) scheme.
Earmarking the funds for the various projects, at the weekend (Friday), in Damaturu, Information Commissioner, Mohammed Lamin, disclosed that the State Executive Council (SEC) approved N7, 771, 564,656 to raise infrastructural facilities in the critical two sectors.
He said that the establishment of the State’s Education Trust Fund (SETF) will gulp N4.53 billion with the modalities of implementing its various projects.
According to him, this will also enhance the healthcare delivery services to improve people’s living conditions across the state.
He further disclosed that the health projects to be completed include procurement of medical equipment and curtains, supply of hospital furniture and installations of medical oxygen/piping at the Maternal and Child Healthcare Centre and Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH), Damaturu.
