Joy rent air yesterday at the residence of Chief Olufemi Omotara at Ora-Igbomina in Ifedayo local govt as members of APC joined PDP during stakeholders meeting.
Delivering his welcome address, the party Chairman, Alhaji Tunji Awotayo, expressed his gratitude to Almighty God for sparing their lives to witness the first stakeholders meeting in the new year.
He said “I thank God for sparing our lives to see this day. Many have died while many are on sick bed but it pleases God to keep us in good health. Also, I appreciate God for keeping our leader, Baba Omotara for us.”
The chairman charged members to redouble their efforts as they move gradually to election period. He said the party cannot afford to lose this time around. He noted “We all knew what happened in the last gubernatorial election, we won but it was rigged. But this time around, by the grace of God we are winning with a wide margin.”
In his remark, Chief Omotara appreciated every member of the party for their commitment and resilience, saying by the grace of God, come July 16, 2022, PDP will be declared winner and we shall take back the government of Osun.
He therefore advice the new and old members to love one an another and work together to deliver bulk votes for PDP in Ifedayo. He was optimistic that with the attendance of the meeting, the future of the party in Ifedayo is bright.
He used the occasion of the meeting to welcome Hon Dayo Oyinloye “Nigerite”, Mrs Rachael Awoniyi (Iya Awujo) and others back to the party. He urged them to see themselves as major stakeholder. “Don’t see yourself as a newcomer, this is your party.”
He (Omotara) used the medium to admonish those who have left the party to come back, “I want to implore those who are still contemplating on whether to join the party or not, APC has failed Nigerians woefully and they can never be trusted again.” he declared
Members in the meeting declared their support for Sen. Ademola Adeleke to be the candidate of the party in the coming election.
The official decamping of others APC members is slated for February 2, 2022.
Among the leaders present are Alh Ismail Adeyemi, Hon Gani Lawal, Hon Yemi Adeoti, Hon Kayode Ajiboye, Mrs Rachael Adunni Awoniyi (Iya Awujo), Hon Lekan Osundina, Elder Adedoyin, Hon Ademola Omotara, Hon Tunrayo Abatan, The local government executives, ward chairmen and others.
