ACCI to Review Scorecard on Road Corridor Development in Nigeria

Abuja Chambers of commerce and Industry (ACCI) is set to hold a roundtable where the key actors from government and private sector will review the scorecard on road corridor development in Nigeria and evaluate the way forward.

Road corridor is a long, narrow passageway and the concept is useful because it prompts the designer to consider the linear nature of the roadway as a movement in space and time.

The roundtable organised by the National Chamber Policy Centre (NCPC) of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and ACCI on Road Corridor Development initiative is billed to analyse the polity and devise appropriate response to the initiative.

It will give room for effective contributions as it is part of ACCI-NCPC commitment to constantly seek ways in improving the ease of doing business through policy advocacy, research and awareness for the business community.

The road corridor development initiative is a vital factor for the actualization of the Africa free Trade Zone Areas (AfCTA) and the ECOWAS government has taken step in the regional integration of road of the region and Nigeria has not been left out.
The Federal Government through partnership with various international agencies have facilitated projects such as Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project, Sokoto-Tambuwal-Jega-Makera, Enugu to Bamenda amongst other projects have enhanced integrated connectivity and integration.

The hybrid roundtable scheduled for 28th February, 2022 have the confirmation of key stakeholders such as; Infrastructure Construction Regulatory Commission, the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Federal Road Safety Commission amongst other.
