The Osun State hospital, Asubiaro played host to the state First Lady, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke earlier today, January 1st, 2025 as she graciously welcomed the first baby of the year.
The elated Mother of the state was ushered into the post natal ward of the state hospital, Asubiaro by Dr. Bello Nurudeen, the Consultant/Gynaecologist on ground. The first baby of the new year 2025 was given birth at exactly 12 am into the family of Mr and Mrs Ojo Yemi from Modakeke, Ife East Area Council of Osun state. The baby weighs 4kg at birth.
Mrs Titilola Adeleke while exchanging pleasantries with the parent of the first baby and 7 others in the ward, pleasantly advised nursing mothers in the state to pay premium attention to the welfare of their children and be their best friends. She charged nursing mothers on exclusive breast feeding to new born babies for optimal growth and perfect cells functions.
The Chairman, Osun State Hopsital Management Board, Dr. Kingsley Akinoye represented by Mr Dosu Adedayo in his address acknowledged the relentless and stellar records of Governor Adeleke’s administration in health sector, he lauds Mrs Adeleke commitment to improving the welfare and livelihood of women and children in particular in the state. He used the opportunity to call for more recruitment of medical personnels across the state health facilities to bring more quality, affordable and accessible health services delivery closer to the people.
Highlight of the visitation was the hand over of edibles and other baby needs by the First Lady to the parent of the new babies coupled with prayers for God’s guidance and blessings to take good care of the special blessings in their various homes.
In company of the First Lady to the state hospital were, Dr. Mrs Mojisola Aina, wife of the Head of Service, Barrister Jola Akintola, Commissioner for health, Mrs Olunike Adeleke, wife of the Commissioner for Budget and Economy Planning.
Others are, Ps Ministry of Health, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, Ps Hospital Management Board, Dr Abayomi Oni, PDP State Women Leader, Hon Mrs Alice Otunla, Iyaloja in General, Chief Mrs Mary Oyebode among others.
