Adeleke Is The Best To Continue In Office Beyond 2026 – Sen ‘Lere Oyewumi

The lawmaker representing Osun West Senatorial District at the senate; Akogun ‘Lere Oyewumi has described Gov. Ademola Adeleke as Osun PDP’S best shot in the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.

Senator Oyewumi who doubles as the deputy minority leader at the upper chamber made the assertion today while featuring on Morning Spring, on Western Spring Television, Osogbo. He debunked rumours making the rounds that he was planning to throw his hat in the ring for the 2026 Osun Guber race against the incumbent governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke.

He emphasized that Gov. Adeleke has done the people of Osun & the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) proud, and has delivered the dividends of democracy and that since nobody changes a winning horse, Gov. Adeleke remains the best candidate for the job in 2026.

In his words “you don’t change a winning team, we are a family, Senator Adeleke is our governor, performing wonderfully well, he is my leader, and I throw my weight behind him 100%, he is doing very very well, to the astonishment of many people”.

The lawmaker went down memory lane to say, the Adeleke family were and are his benefactor and he’ll never work against them, “I don’t supplant my benefactor, Adeleke’s family out me where I am today, they’re the ones God used to make me a senator, when I joined their group for Ademola to be governor, I was a contestant before, they promised me a senatorial ticket, and they stood by it, they funded it, and I am today, I can never and will never contest governorship election with Sen. Ademola Adeleke”.
