The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commiserated with the Muslim Community in Iwo on the passing of a renowned scholar, Dr. Abdulrahman–Rasheed Buwaeb.
The Governor who also condoles with the family of the deceased, described Dr. Buwaeb as a towering figure in Islamic teaching who will be sorely missed.
Governor Adeleke, who was represented at the Islamic rites for Dr. Buwaeb in Iwo by his aides on Islamic affairs – Senior Special Assistant, Alebiosu Abdul-Wasiu and Special Assistant , Imam Hamad Tijani Babatunde Kede- acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to deepening Islamic faith through his teachings.
“It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the Muslim community in Iwo over the death of a renowned scholar, Dr. Abdulrahman-Rasheed Buwaeb. Dr. Buwaeb enriched countless lives through his insightful teachings and advanced the course of Islam with healthy discourse,” the Governor noted in the condolence message.
“As a government, we join the people of Iwo, particularly the Muslim community, in mourning the loss of a distinguished scholar, who not only inspired a great generation of scholars and thinkers but also engender religious harmony.”
Governor Adeleke prays for the repose of the soul of the deceased and hopes that those left behind, especially family members, students and mentees can find solace and strength in the memories of his remarkable life and the knowledge that his legacy will endure generations.
