In a bid to ensure steady water supply for people in the rural communities, Senator Ademola Adeleke’s administration has commenced the distribution of generating sets to power boreholes drilled across wards in the State.
Recall that 332 boreholes was recently constructed across all the wards in the State to mark the 100 days in office of Adeleke’s administration.
Speaking during the official distribution of the generating sets which was held at the government secretariat, the Director of Water Sanitation and Environment, Mr. Olaoye Abayomi, described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the State.
According to him, “By World Organisation Standard, a borehole is meant to serve three thousand five hundred (3500) people which means Mr. Governor has provided water for about two million people in the State”.
He appreciated Governor Adeleke for being passionate and concerned to see that water is available in all nooks and crannies of the State.
