Ensue peace, tolerance among yourselves, Gov Adeleke tells religious worshipers

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has called on the various religious worshippers in the state to allow peace and tolerance among themselves.

He made the call on Wednesday in Osogbo during the 2024 Traditional Religion Worshipers Association prayer service organized to herald the new year.

The Governor, who was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi said nobody should underrate or speak evil of other religions, warning that every worshiper should stick to his or her faith.

He however, ascertained that traditional religion is the origin of all religions, pointing out that it will eventually outlast other religions.

According to him, ” Our tradition is our religion and any other religion that is not ours was imported from strange land, and it has no other name than strange religion”

“I call for religious tolerance among various worshipers, explaining that nobody should underrate or speak evil of other religions, warning that every worshiper should stick to his or her faith.”

Speaking with Journalists, Special Adviser to the Governor on Traditional Matters, Kehinde Oloke admonished the traditional worshipers to remain united and embrace peace among themselves for the State to be able to experience more progress in the new year.

During the prayer session, messages from the Ifa divination for the year 2024 was delivered and it was said to be a year of fruitfulness and of great accomplishments.

In their seperate prayers and divination (Iwure), ifa Preist, prayed for the success of Osun Government in the new year, and sounded a note of warning from Ifa to the State that there must be sincerity among stakeholders for the State and it’s inhabitants to progress.

Delivering his goodwill message,on behalf of the Osun State Council for Traditional Rulers, Elegbedi of Egbedi Town, Oba Albdulazeez Muyideen encouraged the traditional worshipers to tighten the bond of relationship among them. He also appreciated Governor Adeleke for his love for traditional worshipers in the State.

The yearly programme was graced by management and staff of Osun State Culture and Tourism led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Adebimpe Ogunlumade and Osun State Tourism Board led by the General Manager, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ajayi, and her counterpart in the State Council for Art and Culture, Mrs Solape Abolarin, including other government functionaries.
