● Vows To Vote Gov Adeleke For Re-Election
Chairman of Osun state Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo has warned against ongoing arrests and harassment of Osun local government workers across Osun state, vowing to take labour action if the situation does not stop forthwith.
He spoke at the 2026 annual prayer event organised by the state government on Monday.
The labour boss said reports from the local governments showed police actively supporting some politicians parading and humiliating some local government workers, warning that “ the development is unacceptable for the police to be involved in such disgraceful act.
The labour chief posited that workers should not be criminalised for complying with public service rules at their place of work, declaring that “our members have done nothing wrong and this harassment should stop without delay.
“We have seen videos and pictures of our members being forced to kneel down, being. We condemn this conduct. We call on the police to release them. We decalre our solidariry with our members. The police should stop being used by the APC on such illegal roles.
“ The APC is pushing to plunge Osun into crisis. They want to create mayhem. We will not help them to destroy our state. We will resist legally and lawfully. We are a pressure group.
“We warn the police not to harass our people. We will not tolerate ongoing harassment of our people at the local government level. The governor has done so much for labour and for Osun people.
“We will reciprocate by voting massively accordingly. We will also monitor your vote accordingly. We are going to deliver accordingly. We call APC to see us clearly. We will not run away for anybody.
“We will bring out the votes accordingly. We will deliver for Imole. We are vote multiplier. We will stand by the governor who has delivered and who is delivering. All what they are doing to us is worsening their matter and their image is daily getting eroded.
“We will show them that Osun is a a civil service state. We will not repay good with evil in line with biblical stipulations and inductions. We will deliver the votes, votes that will scare inconclusive agenda. We will stand by the votes and we will deliver.
“They had messed us up in the past. When imole came he corrected and revived our hopes. We will not stop supporting Mr Governor. Our minimum wage is the best. This is the first time we have a hitch free minimum wage negotiation in the country. The voters are our families and friends. We will mobilise them and they will vote for Imole”, the labour chief noted.
