Wole Oke Boo is Daydreaming; He Embarks Alone on a Journey to Political Oblivion – PDP Stakeholders, Appointees

Appointees of the Osun State Governor, elected officers, and key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ijesa North Federal Constituency have taken strong exception to recent comments made by Hon. Wole Oke following his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement signed by the stakeholders stated that “Wole Oke, who until recently represented Ijesa North in the House of Representatives, took to his social media platforms to boast that he “allowed” some PDP members in Obokun, Oriade, and other areas to remain in the party to “enjoy the fruits of their labour,” suggesting that otherwise, they would have defected with him. This statement is not only unguarded, uncultured, and uncivilized—it reeks of arrogance and delusion. It is the unfortunate outburst of a man clearly out of touch with reality and his waning political relevance.

“After spending over 20 unproductive years in the National Assembly, with no tangible project or legacy to show in his hometown, Esa Oke, Hon. Oke now absurdly assumes he can determine the political direction of Osun PDP. That is not only a laughable overestimation of his importance—it is a sign of political dementia.

“Let it be made abundantly clear: Wole Oke is not, and has never been, the reason for PDP’s victories in Ijesa North. Rather, it is the tireless efforts of the party’s leaders, committed stakeholders, and dedicated youths that sustained his political journey all these years. His defection to the APC is a betrayal of trust and an open display of his self-serving political ambition.

“Hon. Wole Oke should be reminded that the PDP gave him continuous tickets for decades not because he was indispensable, but because of the party’s supremacy and the collective loyalty of its members. That loyalty does not extend to him now that he has jumped ship. He is on a solo journey to political irrelevance, and no serious-minded PDP member, appointee, or elected official will follow him down that road.

“We stand firmly with His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and we assure him and our leaders across the state that Ijesa North remains a stronghold of the PDP. The Governor’s sterling performance, people-oriented governance, and progressive leadership are more than enough to earn the continued support of the electorate come 2026.

“Wole Oke will shrink into political obscurity, and his name will fade from relevance in the politics of Osun and Nigeria in no distance time.
