Rep. Bamidele Salam Congratulates 46th Aláàfin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, Representative Bamidele Salam, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Oba Akeem Owoade, the newly enthroned 46th Aláàfin of Oyo.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook account on Sunday, Rep. Salam, who is also representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly commended Oba Owoade’s ascension to the prestigious throne of the Aláàfin, a position of significant historical and cultural importance.

He expressed his profound joy over the monarch’s coronation and offered prayers for his reign.

Salam also praised the selection process, highlighting the unity and the cultural pride it has brought to the people of Oyo and beyond.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to Kabiyesi bàbá wa, the 46th Aláàfin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade.

“It is a moment of great pride not only for the Oyo Kingdom but for the entire Yorubaland.

“I pray that God Almighty, who has brought you to this exalted throne, will continue to uphold you and grant you all that you need to serve with wisdom, strength, and justice in this very eminent stool,” Salam said.

The Lawmaker further noted the importance of the Aláàfin as a symbol of unity, heritage, and leadership within the Yoruba kingdom and the broader Nigerian society.

He emphasized that the traditional institution of the Aláàfin plays a crucial role in preserving the rich cultural identity of the Yoruba people while also providing guidance and stability in times of challenge.

“I am confident that under your leadership, the Oyo Kingdom will continue to thrive and maintain its prominent position as a cultural and historical beacon for all Yoruba people.

“Together, we will continue to build a Nigeria that celebrates its diversity and its shared history while looking forward to an even brighter future,” Salam concluded.
