“Explore new horizons, be of good conduct”-Gov. Adeleke charges Corps members

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has charged 2023 Batch C Stream 1 Corps members deployed to the State and those dislodged from Lagos State to explore new horizons, be of good conduct and consider ways to give back to their communities.

A total of 2,300 Corps members were deployed to the State, comprising 580 males, 770 females, and an additional 950 dislodged from Lagos State.

The Governor said this during the opening and swearing-in ceremony of the Corps members at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Tuesday.

He stated the paramount importance of the NYSC orientation program, highlighting how the program equips Corps members with essential skills and values, transforming them into responsible citizens and future leaders.

Adeleke described NYSC skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program as a powerful tool for self-development and empowerment, charging the corp members to take the program seriously.

“Your inauguration is a symbol of new beginnings and of their commitment to the country, marking the start of a transformative journey that will not only shape their individual lives but also contribute to the unity and development of the nation.

“Endeavor to explore new horizons, be of good conduct and consider ways to give back to your communities. Also build lasting friendships and networks that would offer crucial support throughout your service year”, Adeleke stated

Speaking earlier, Mr. Agbor Ndoma Obim, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, reminded the Corps members of NYSC’s core vision, which centers on fostering national unity and integration, urging them to approach the Orientation Course with an open heart and unwavering dedication to community development.

According to him; “A total of 2,300 Corps Members had been deployed to the State, comprising 580 males, 770 females, and an additional 950 dislodged from Lagos State.

“Rise to the challenges of the service year, embrace the opportunities, and make a positive impact during their service year. He emphasized that the journey of national service starts today and wished all Corps Members a successful, fruitful, and fulfilling experience”.

The National Pledge and NYSC Oath of Allegiance were administered by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, who was represented by Honorable Justice Maurice Olufisayo Okediya.
