The Ijesa PDP Voice has condemned what it described as a “wave of misinformation” being spread by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the Obaship matter in the Ikirun Kingdom, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Gideon Ogungbemi, the group accused the APC of attempting to mislead the public and discredit the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke through deliberate falsehoods.
The statement reminded the opposition that it was under the previous APC-led government that the palace of the Akirun of Ikirun was first locked and fortified with charms on October 29, 2022, and later set ablaze on November 26, 2022 — acts allegedly carried out by individuals well known to the former administration.
“It is laughable and hypocritical for the APC to attempt to twist the truth and shift blame to Governor Adeleke’s administration, an administration that has been committed to peace, justice, and good governance since inception,” the statement read.
The group further advised the APC leadership, especially the former governor, to caution their “ill-mannered media handlers suffering from selective amnesia” and verify facts before circulating false information.
Describing Governor Adeleke as “God-anointed,” the Ijesa PDP Voice emphasized that no amount of propaganda could erase the visible transformation and relief his government has brought to the people of Osun.
The group reaffirmed that the PDP-led government remains focused on restoring dignity, peace, and progress to the state, declaring that “Osun will not return to the hardship and misrule endured under the APC.”
