APC supporters snatched Journalist’s phone during Omisore’s rally

Two mobile phones belonging to a reporter with OSUN DEFENDER newspaper, Samuel Durosomo, were on Tuesday stolen during the declaration of interest by the immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, to contest the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

The incident occurred at the APC state secretariat in Osogbo, where a large crowd had gathered for the event.

According to Durosomo, the phones — a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and a TECNO Spark 20 Pro — were stolen when unidentified supporters in the crowd pushed him while he was recording the proceedings.

He said, “The phones were stolen a few minutes past 1 p.m. this afternoon, Tuesday, while we were covering the declaration of interest by Senator Omisore at the APC Secretariat.

“As the event progressed, some supporters trying to move to the front pushed us and my colleague, with whom I was standing. As we tried to stand up and regain full stamina, I discovered that my two phones — a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and a TECNO Spark 20 Pro — had been stolen.

“We have been trying to call the phones, but they have been switched off by the thieves,” he added
