Osun Deputy Speaker Chairs Ad-Hoc Committee on Screening of Commissioner Nominees

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, on Friday, appointed the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi as chairman of the ad-hoc committee to screen the Commissioner nominees sent by the Osun State Governor, H.E. Ademola Adeleke.

The Speaker made this known during the plenary session on Friday.

Rt. Hon. Egbedun while addressing honorable colleagues stated that the ad-hoc committee is needed to screen the names of the Commissioner nominees sent by H.E. Sen. Ademola Adeleke.

The speaker notes that the terms of reference of the committee will be to critically screen the names sent to hasten their confirmation for the good of the state.

Rt. Hon. Egbedun states that each nominee must come with 35 copies of their curriculum vitae and declare their assets.

His statement reads, “I hereby wish to announce to this house and distinguished honorable colleagues that the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oyewusi will chair the house committee on the screening of Commissioner nominees sent by H.E. Sen. Ademola Adeleke.

“The committee is formed to critically screen commissioner nominees of Osun State.

“Each nominee must come with 35 copies of their curriculum vitae and declare their assets.

The committee members are; Hon. Babajide Koforowola (Ede North), Hon. Barr. Kanmi Ajibola (Oriade), Hon. Ajibola Olaide (Olorunda), Hon. Elisha Oderinwale (Ayedire), Hon. Dikrullahi Akinloye Bajepade (Ila), Hon. Sanmi Areoye (Atakumosa East/West), and Mrs. Rachael Ojimi, Director, of Legal Services to serve as Secretary.

In his reaction, the Deputy Speaker, addressing newsmen, affirmed that the committee will screen the announced names of the commissioners for the good of the state.

“I am glad to be announced as the chairman of the committee to screen the names of the Commissioner nominees sent by the Osun State Governor, H.E. Ademola Adeleke.

“We (committee members) pledge to screen the sent names for the good of Osun State.” Rt. Hon. Oyewusi said.
