0sun State Government has unveiled plans to rehabilitate the moribund Industrial Development Centre to rejuvenate the economy of the State and create job opportunities for youths.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo made this known during an official inspection to the centre, opposite St. Charles Grammar School, Ilesa Garage Area, Osogbo on Monday.
He expressed displeasure at the dilapidated condition of the multi-million naira infrastructure and facilities abandoned at the Industrial Development Training Centre located at the State Capital.
Rev. Jenyo explained that the training centre was designed to serve as support system for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the State.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Kehinde Odediran, Director of Industry, Mr Tajudeen Adigun, State Manager, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria ( SMEDAN), Dr Samuel Adebola, Deputy Director Industry, Mr Niyi Onigbinde, Assistant Director Industry, Mr Olukunle Abimbola and the IDC Head, Mrs Deborah Ogunrinde.
