The traditional rulers in Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State have unanimously endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

The endorsement was announced when members of the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) paid a visit to the Atakunmosa East Local Government Traditional Council.

Speaking on behalf of the council, the Alamuye of Amuye-Faforiji, Oba (Dr.) Richard Adebayo Faforiji, commended Governor Adeleke for what he described as his remarkable achievements and people-centred governance over the past three years.

The monarch said the governor had demonstrated commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development, adding that his performance had earned him the confidence and admiration of the people.

He assured the governor of the continued support, prayers and cooperation of the traditional institution.

Oba Faforiji also praised the administration for executing developmental projects across the state, promoting peace, preserving human dignity and ensuring that members of the ruling party shunned political violence despite alleged provocations.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Atakunmosa East Local Government Traditional Council and the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde Oyeleye, said the endorsement reflected the council’s confidence in Governor Adeleke’s leadership.

Quoting a Yoruba proverb, the monarch said, “Ajanaku kọjá, mo rí nkan fìrì, tá a bá rí erin, ká sọ pé a rí erin,” explaining that it means greatness should be acknowledged whenever it is evident.

Responding, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed that his administration remained committed to peace, justice, development and selfless service to the people.

According to him, politics should be driven by the desire to improve the welfare of citizens rather than violence.

The governor also assured the traditional rulers that all ongoing projects initiated by his administration would be completed, while more developmental projects would be executed if re-elected.

“I sincerely appreciate your love, confidence and endorsement. I assure you that, by the grace of God, I will do even more for the people of Atakunmosa East, Ijesaland and the entire state when re-elected on August 15, 2026,” Adeleke said.
