The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has charged the delegates at the ongoing 22nd Edition of the Joint Planning Board (JPB) and National Council on Development Planning (NCDP) meetings to deliberate on effective planning towards having economic stability and sustainability in Nigeria.
Governor Adeleke gave the charge at the opening ceremony of the three day meetings which commenced on Tuesday in Osogbo,the Osun state capital at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding.
The governor who was represented by the state deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi while declaring the meetings open commended the organisers for their commitment to brainstorm on issues and policies that would enhance economic growth and national development of the country especially at this critical time of the removal of fuel subsidy with its attendant multiplier effects on people.
He,however enjoined delegates at the meetings to prioritize planning activities towards the attainment of a virile and cohesive Nigerian federation.
Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Nebeolisa Anako, appreciated Osun State Governor and the people of the State in general for the hospitality accorded the delegates.
In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development, Osun State, Mrs Yetunde Esan, expressed the hope that decisions and deliberations that would be made at the end of the 3 day brainstorm sessions on National Planning and Development would be beneficial for all and Sunday in Nigeria.
The meetings which continues on Wednesday will end on Thursday this week during which a communique is expected to be issued.
