The Executive Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke was on Monday installed as Asiwaju of Edeland, while promising to be a frontliner (Asiwaju) of development and growth for Osun state.
The installation held at the Palace square of Oba Timi market in Ede, Osun state.
In his address, Governor Adeleke promised to be a frontliner (Asiwaju) of development and growth for Osun state, by assuring that he’s ready to carry the positive transformation from towns to villages and from cities to rural areas across Osun state.
“As I am accepting the title of Asiwaju of Edeland today before God and man, I dedicate it to my late father and mother; to my late brother, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke; to my big brother, Dr Adedeji Adeleke; and to my darling sister, the Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Chief Dupe Adeleke-sanni.
“I vow to be a frontliner (asiwaju) of development and growth for edeland and osun state as a whole. I will carry the light of positive transformation from towns to villages and from cities to rural areas across our dear state.” Adeleke promised.
He, however assured all Asiwaju title holders not to see him just as the Asiwaju of Edeland but as the Asiwaju of osun state.
“To all Asiwaju title holders of various towns in Osun state, I welcome myself into your midst. On a lighter mood, I believe you are eager to receive me not just as the Asiwaju of Edeland but as the Asiwaju of Osun state. The Governor stated joyfully.
While speaking on behalf of the Governor’s Forum, The Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde who led Lagos, Ogun state governors to the event, commended Adeleke for his numerous projects across Osun state.
“I really commend you for this great project you’re doing in Osun state. Infact I almost get confused while coming to Ede, everywhere has changed.
“Oyo and Osun are brothers. Gov Adeleke is the real Asiwaju Serubawon, he will scare them away. You shall continue to go forward.
The host governor, however added that he will emulate Governor Adeleke ‘s project infrastructure in Oyo state, according to him
“I want to emulate Asiwaju of Edeland, because when he became the Governor, he said competition has just started. I will also double up in my infrastructure plan in Oyo state.
During the installation, The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Ogunwusi Enitan, Ooni of Ife used made prayers for Governor Adeleke.
“This new chieftain will favour you, you will not be disgraced, no sadness shall be your portion from now on, everyday shall be your day of joy.
“Awokoko leaf doesn’t wither, you shall never wither. In the name of all kings present here today, I install you as the Asiwaju of Edeland”. Ooni prayed
