When a man’s very name means setback, one should not expect him to know the first thing about law, truth, or governance. Osun people, meet Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji AMUBO, a walking embodiment of political regression, now shamelessly parading his ignorance as if it were a badge of honour.
Let no one be deceived: the Court of Appeal did not — I repeat, did not — reinstate AMUBO’s so-called “Yes or No” chairmen. In fact, three justices, in a ruling so clear that only a desperate illiterate would twist it, described APC’s attempt as self-inflicted injury. They slept on their appeal for two years, forgot the rules of court, failed to prosecute their own case, and now want to blackmail the courts and lie to our people? Only in AMUBO’s confused world!
Justice Obiora’s verdict was thunderous: equity helps the vigilant, not the indolent. Yet here is AMUBO, Nigeria’s biggest apostle of indolence, now barking empty threats and pretending to be a legal scholar. If he truly read even a paragraph of the ruling, he would know that the same court warned them sternly to stop distorting its judgments for cheap political gains.
What Osun needs to understand is this: AMUBO is not just a setback by name. He is a setback by character. His careless tongue threatens peace, his ignorance insults the court, and his ambition spits in the face of reason. A man who boasts of a judgment he never read is unfit to manage a single village hall, let alone a whole state.
Is it not laughable that a man who can not understand a simple court order wants to wear the sacred crown of governor? This is the same court that called out APC’s laziness, struck out their deceitful motion, and told them to stop dragging the judiciary into party thuggery, yet AMUBO brags of “victory”? Osun people must tell him: your days of confusion are numbered.
Our councils belong to the people, not to lawless impostors foisted through midnight elections and fake legal tales. The PDP chairmen remain the only legitimate leaders at the grassroots today — a fact AMUBO can not wish away with his roadside propaganda.
Finally, a word for the good people of Osun: “When a fool persists in his folly, even the deaf will hear.” Let AMUBO persist. Let him expose himself more. But when next he crawls out to seek your vote, remind him: a man named “Setback” will never be our future.
