The Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, has directed leaders of the party across the state to mobilise to various collation centres and ensure that the mandate given to Governor Ademola Adeleke is protected.

Akande gave the directive in a statement issued on Saturday, stressing the need for party leaders to monitor the collation process and ensure that votes recorded at the polling units were duly counted.

According to him, the directive was necessary to ensure that the victory recorded by the party at the polling units was not compromised during the collation of results.

“It is time to show leadership and protect the mandate of our people. It is our collective duty to protect the votes freely cast by the good people of Osun State,” Akande said.

He urged Accord leaders to proceed to the designated collation centres and remain vigilant while ensuring that the electoral process was conducted peacefully.

“We must remain vigilant, peaceful and committed throughout the collation process. The victory we have secured is not merely a victory for Accord or for Governor Adeleke; it is a victory for the good people of Osun State who have spoken clearly through their votes,” he said.

Akande further called on party leaders and supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, warning against any action that could undermine the peaceful conduct of the collation exercise.

“I therefore urge all our leaders across the state to proceed immediately to the designated collation centres and ensure that the mandate of the people is protected,” he added.

The Accord chairman expressed confidence that the will of the electorate would prevail, saying the mandate given to Governor Adeleke would be upheld through the final collation of the election results.
