Don’t Turn Road Shoulders To Markets – Osun Gov’t Warns Traders

Osun State government is prepared to work with other South-West States to put together a rail project that will improve rail transportation in the region.

Special Adviser to the Governor on transportation, Mr Moshood Yakubu – Adejare stated this on Imole Ayo, a sensitization programme which promotes the activities of governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration on OSBC Radio and Television channels

The weekly Yoruba simulcast programme is put in place by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, to highlight the achievements of governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration in Osun state

Mr Adejare explained that, the new South West railway system will span across towns and villages in the region with a view to meeting the transportation needs of the people, most especially the farmers who always encounter some challenges while taking their farm produce to urban areas.

He added that a new park management system put in place by governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is to eradicate insecurity, and all forms of crises that usually lead to destruction of property and killings when rival unions groups attack each other at motor parks

The governor’s aide advised motorists most especially drivers of articulated vehicles to desist from indiscriminate parking of vehicles on Osun roads, the act he noted has always created unnecessary gridlock saying anyone caught will be dealt with in accordance with the law

Mr Adejare equally urged traders who have turn road shoulders to markets to vacate as the risk involved in such practice is enomous saying the road verges are where drivers may stop in an emergency while the walk ways are for pedestrians
