In it’s efforts to mitigate the socio economic effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on citizens, OSUN CARES on Monday, distributed inputs and assests which include, deep freezer, Sewing machine, pumping machine, rice, among others to over 100 farmers in the state.
The Initiative, according to the State government is in line with Governor Adeleke’s overall goal to ensure food security, promote self-reliance, and create wealth in the State.
While speaking at the distribution program in Ede town hall, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Babatola Faseru described the inputs distributed as tools for transformation and investments in their capabilities.
He urged all beneficiaries to make judicious use of the outputs so as to improve their own livelihoods and also to create opportunities for others within their sphere of influence.
He said, “The Osun CARES Results Area 2 Project is a deliberate intervention aimed at mitigating the socioeconomic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our people, particularly those in the agricultural sector. This project aligns with our administration’s broader agenda to ensure food security, create wealth, and promote self-reliance. Today, we are not just distributing inputs and assets; we are empowering dreams, enabling productivity, and sowing seeds of prosperity for future generations.
“To the beneficiaries gathered here today, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. You have been carefully selected for this program because of your demonstrated potential and commitment to contributing to the agricultural and economic development of our state. These inputs and assets whether they be farm equipment, inputs, or other critical resources are tools for transformation. They are investments in your capabilities and in the future of Osun State.
“I urge you to make judicious use of these items. Use them not only to improve your own livelihoods but also to create opportunities for others within your sphere of influence. Employ your neighbors, mentor young people in your communities, and collaborate with others to scale”, he said.
Faseru, also assured that the state government will continue to provide an enabling environment for citzens growth and success.
Earlier in his welcome address, The General Manager of OSUN CARES , Dr Ganiyu Adebowale Adediji encouraged the beneficiaries to utilise the resources effectively, while noting that the success of the initiative depends on their Commitment.
“Do not defeat the purpose of this project by misusing or neglecting these assests. Instead, use them to boost your productivity, create employment opportunities, inspire others in your sphere of influence. Remember, the success of this initiative depends on your commitment to making the most of what has been entrusted to you”, he urged beneficiaries.
