The Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has reiterated that his administration is to industrialize the State in order to make Osun an industrial hub for the South West.
This was made known by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev Bunmi Jenyo during the State Council meeting on Nano, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises ( NMSMEs) held at the Ministry’s conference room.
The council which was inaugurated by the State Government in collaboration with SMEDAN on Wednesday, 20th January, 2021 in line with the Federal government National Policy on NMSMEs, is to formulate policies for the economic advancement of the Osun people.
In his opening remarks, the Commissioner said the meeting is to encourage interaction among relevant stakeholders and government with a view to ensuring a virile business environment that is conducive for productive investments in the State.
Speaking on the need to support the Industrial drive of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, the Commissioner urged members of the council to work hand in hand, saying industrialization is the wheel of progress and no state can prosper without putting into use their natural resources for greater economy.
Jenyo stressed that as a council, there was a need to come together and address challenges facing NMSMEs in the State and to encourage economic growth and entrepreneurship.
The State Manager for Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Dr.Samuel Adebola said NMSMEs are the bedrock for Nigeria’s economic development, so there it was important to facilitate and sustain a vibrant NMSMEs for economic growth and employment in the State.
He commended the efforts of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke towards changing the narrative of Osun from being a civil servant state to an Industrialized State.
