Osun Amotekun rescue kidnapped victim, no ransom paid

Osun Amotekun Corps has rescued a kidnapped victim, Muhammed Jubril from his abductors with no ransom paid after a lot of restless efforts.

Recall, the Amotekun Operatives had been on a search rescue mission of a kidnapped victim, Muhammed Jubril in Ago-Igbira a Fulani settlement of Ila-Orangun of Osun State that was kidnapped at about 1:40 am on Wednesday April 12, 2023 by unknown gunmen.

Confirming the rescue to Journalists on Monday in Osogbo, Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Bridg. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi affirmed that the kidnapped victim Muhammed Jubril has been released by kidnappers after a lot of pressure was mounted on the unknown kidnappers.

“The operatives swung into action immediately after a distress call was placed to the corps ila command office by the seriki Fulani of Ago Igbira settlement that some Bororo have invaded them and kidnapped one Muhammed Jubril and immediately the Field Commander of Amotekun, Commander Olusoji Akanni mobilized the operatives and combed the forest all night till got to Ago Inisha, Arandun, and Igbo Orile in Kwara State.

“Our operatives were closing in on them and as a result released the victim with no ransom paid,” Adewinmbi said.

He also added that investigation is still ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers, while the victim has rejoined with his family.
