The Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke on Wednesday lauded the kind gesture of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency(NIMASA) towards the vulnerable indigenes of Osun state.
The commendation came to mark another humanitarian gestures valued at several millions of naira via the provision of relief materials and medical equipment to the people of Osun State.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, The Personal Assistant to Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Sodiq Taoheed gave the commendation during the Flag off ceremony for the distribution of the medical equipment and relief materials provided by NIMASA which was held at Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) warehouse, Osogbo.
He stressed that the assistance from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) was in deed a unique one against the realization that it will go a long way in cushioning the hardship of the people especially the vulnerable one.
The Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh (OFN) who was represented by the Deputy Director, Internal Audit of the organization, Mrs. Biodun Falade urged the beneficiaries to use the distributed relief materials judiciously.
She added that NIMASA has been doing a great job for sometimes now to cushion the effects of global economy on people especially the less privileged who are facing one unfavorable circumstance or the other in the country.
“It is a gesture in this regard as it’s part of our mandate and corporate social responsibility to all Nigerians especially those who are in need .
“NIMASA has been effective in all the 36 States of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) every year according to the need of each state.” She stated.
Speaking earlier, the General Manager of Osun State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Amos Adejinle appreciated the relentless efforts of NIMASA for always according Osun state attention when the need for such gestures arises.
He also appreciated the Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Adeleke for his proactiveness in ensuring the well being of Osun residents since he came on board in less then six months.
Speaking on behalf of all the beneficiaries, Mr Oladipo Lawrence appreciated NIMASA team and Osun State Government for their team spirit in cushioning the effects of hardship on the people of the state from time to time.
