Not less than 6000 household received food items from the law maker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency at the national assembly, Honourable Bamidele Salam, from his food support initiative, in order to alleviate hunger in Ramadan fasting season.
The distribution Programme on Tuesday at Country home in Ede, had the presence of Clerics, leaders of different Islamic groups in the communities, Imams, gathered to receive the food items.
In an interview with the newsmen, Chairman of the distribution committee, Alhaji Abdulrahman Elesin commended the organizer of the initiative.
“I was surprised and pleased when I heard about this program, we distributed the palliatives as instructed and we can only thank Hon Bamidele Salam for not forgetting us, Muslim in this period.
“It is not easy for many people in this present economy, so this is a thoughtful initiative to give people over 6000 families with the Constituency beans, flour and rice to support them during Ramadan, May the Almighty God bless him.” He prayed
Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo, a leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Egbedore local government, while speaking with newsmen, he described the initiative as a great one.
“This is a very fantastic program as we all know the state of the country and this is first time this type of program is happening and we all bear witness to his good deeds”, he said.
The food items which includes rice, beans and flour was distributed among all present beneficiaries.
Awoniran Muyibat from Ejigbo local government who is among the beneficiaries expressed her heartfelt gratitude, she said “ We the community and everyone in Ede zone appreciate the efforts of Hon Bamidele Salam and by the grace of God this is just the beginning of great things and we pray God continue to help him more than before ” she prayed.
