Osun State government has expressed its displeasure on the cases of encroachment of residents into lands belonging to government schools across the State.
According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr Muritala Jimoh, he described what the resident land grabbers are doing as nothing but pure impunity and lack of respect for the laws.
Jimoh warns individuals and families or groups that have encroached on school lands or are planning to do so to vacate all encroached government properties without further delay.
“Government will definitely take back the possession of all school lands that had hitherto been encroached on and all encroachers will be prosecuted”, he concluded.
The Permanent Secretary, however, enjoined school heads to go about their businesses without fear of intimidation as government has mapped out necessary machineries to guard against further encroachment.
