The Osun State Ministry of Education has urged the people of the state to disregard the media report that says government is ready to recruit teachers now.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr Muritala Jimoh and made available to Journalists in Osogbo.
Jimoh described the report in some sections of the media that the government is ready to recruit teachers as misleading.
He urged members of the public to disregard the news report, stating that the report emanated from a Press Conference held to announce the commencement of an Education Summit to reposition the state’s education sector.
According to the statement, “Yes, it is true that our schools need more teachers, but it is not something that we can just jump into. There are steps and procedures to be taken to recruit teachers.
“It’s true that the issue of teacher’s recruitment was mentioned during the Press Conference, but not that it is starting now. We are having an education summit, the issue of teacher’s recruitment and other issues bothering on the education sector will be addressed, that is what was discuss
“For a section of the media to just begin to spread falsehood news that the government is set for teachers recruitment is heartbreaking.
“We implore members of the public to disregard the media report, when the State is ready to recruit teacher’s, the public will be adequately informed”.
