…declares open Osun 2023 Trade Fair
The Osun state governor, Gov Ademola Adeleke, has said his administration is passionate about changing the narrative of the state from a civil service economy to a thriving industrial hub.
The governor made this known while speaking at the 2023 Osun Trade Fair organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The governor who was represented by the deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, said Osun becoming an industrial hub will make the state open to countless opportunities and will help the economy to improve.
The governor in his words said ‘we are welcoming investors from other states and countries who are well prepared and ready to establish their business in our state for improved activities and better utilization of resources to bring about a robust and more profitable economy”
“This year’s Fair is a general one for an all inclusive economy and business activities which will host participants, business men and women, industrialists and investors from all walks of life from within and outside the state” he added.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo said this year’s theme “unlocking the industrialization potentials of Osun state with its focus on agriculture, mining and micro, small and medium industries” falls in line with the current drive of the present administration to break away from a monolithic economy and develop the investment potentials of the state by developing our human and natural resources to a visible economic growth in the state”.
According to him, “Trade Fair is a general fair and its platform set to promote the economic development of the state through our local resources and investment opportunities abounding in various locations in the state as well as looking for new discoveries”.
He therefore implored Osun people to make the best use of the opportunity and use the fair what it bring to the fore, the skills and talents and peculiar key products and identify natural resources which could be tapped.
The Trade Fair which started on Thursday 16th November is expected to end on Tuesday 28th November 2023.
Dignitaries at the occasion include the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hon Adewale Egbedun represented by his Deputy, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Dosu Babatunde, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Ayofe Maruf, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries and other top government functionaries.
