Governor Adeleke unveils plan to dualize Okefia-Old Garage-Lameco roads

The executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has unveiled plans to embark on the dualization project of the Old Garage-Okefia-Lameco junction in Osogbo, the capital city.

The Governor has also directed local councils to construct 1.5 kilometers of roads each within their respective areas.

This announcement was made public on Saturday, May 20, 2022, by Engineer Olusola Ajao, the Coordinating Director of the Osun State Ministry of Works and Transport, during his appearance on the weekly program “Imole Ayo” on the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) Radio and Television.

According to a tweet from one of Governor Adeleke’s media assistants, Mr. Oni Gbenga Lawrence, who is known as @DukeOfOsun on Twitter, Engineer Olusola Ajao stated during the program that the Ministry of Works and Transport officials would commence reconnaissance surveys and data gathering on the road stretch starting from Monday, in preparation for the dualization project.

Engineer Olusola emphasized that the current administration in Osun State is committed to transforming Osogbo, with the aim of giving the ancient town the appearance of a true state capital. He further revealed that Governor Adeleke has instructed each local government in the state to construct 1.5 kilometers of roads within their respective council areas.

Engineer Ajao appealed to the residents of Osun State to continue supporting Senator Ademola Adeleke’s administration by promptly paying their taxes, as these funds are used to provide essential amenities throughout the entire state.
