Osun Assembly inspects road intervention projects, charges contractors not to compromise on quality

The Osun state House of Assembly has vouched to ensure the success of Governor Ademola Adeleke led administration by exerting due diligence  in the performance of their oversight duties.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, through the Chairman House Committee on Public Works and Transport, Hon. Waheed Abiola, on Saturday while on inspection of Osogbo East By-pass road(ona baba ona, Ilesha Garage – Oke-baale roundabout) and Ila-Odo(Osun/Kwara boundary) roads, praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for his quick intervention on the uncompleted projects by past administrations and giving all Osun residents the opportunity of good governance. 

The Chairman and some other members of the Committee expressed displeasure over the pace at which the projects are being executed  and enjoined the contractors to avoid being clogs in the wheel of the State progress. 

“Contractors should not compromise on quality in the course of trying to meet up with the stipulated deadlines for the contracts”, he said

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr Basiru Bello, through the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Engr. Olalekan Salami, who led the team, also appreciated the efforts of Governor Adeleke and the efficiency of the 8th Assembly.

He projected that with the rates at which Governor Adeleke’s intervention projects are being executed  in rapid succession,  Osun may be free of all bad roads before the end of his first tenure.

He further enjoined all Osun residents to work hand in hand with Governor Adeleke by maintaining proper usage of the roads and drainages.
